42nd Street extends booking at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane

The musical fable extends in the West End

The hit London revival of 42nd Street at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane has extended its booking period to 10 February 2018.

The production began previews in London on Monday, 20 March, 2017 and opened to excellent reviews on Tuesday 4 April 2017, where it was described as "infectious musical theatre joy of the highest calibre" by London Theatre. It was previously booking to 14 October 2017.

Featuring music by Harry Warren and Al Dubin it has a book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble. Produced by Michael Linnit and Michael Grade this revival is directed by Mark Bramble with choreography by Randy Skinner, scenic design by Douglas W Schmidt and costume design by Roger Kirk.

The lead cast of 42nd Street includes Sheena Easton (Dorothy Brock), Tom Lister (Julian Marsh), Clare Halse (Peggy Sawyer), Jasna Ivir (Maggie Jones), Norman Bowman (Pat Denning), Stuart Neal (Billy Lawlor), Graeme Henderson (Andy Lee), Christopher Howell (Bert Barry), Bruce Montague (Abner Dillon), Mark McKerracher (Mac/Doc/Thug) and Emma Caffrey (Annie).

This Olivier Award-winning Best Musical features the songs "Shuffle Off to Buffalo", "Lullaby of Broadway", "We're in the Money" and the title track "42nd Street". Based on the MGM film of the same name it is described as the song and dance American dream fable of Broadway. "Young Peggy Sawyer is fresh off the bus from small-town America and just another face in the chorus line on Broadway's newest show. But when the leading lady gets injured, Peggy might just have the shot at stardom she's always dreamed of..."

42nd Street tickets are now available to 10 February 2018 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
