A Streetcar Named Desire extends to 19 Sep at Young Vic

The Young Vic's upcoming production of Tennessee Williams' drama A Streetcar Named Desire has extended its limited engagement. It begins previews in the Young Vic's Main House on 23 Jul 2014, before officially opening on 28 Jul and will now close on 19 Sep 2014. It was originally booking through to 06 Sep 2014.

The cast of A Streetcar Named Desire includes Gillian Anderson as Blanche DuBois, Ben Foster as Stanley Kowalski, Vanessa Kirby as Stella, Corey Johnson as Mitch, with Clare Burt, Lachele Carl, Branwell Donaghey, Otto Farrant, Nicholas Gecks, Stephanie Jacob, and Claire Prempah.

Tennessee Williams' 1947 Pulitzer Prize winning play is directed by Benedict Andrews and features scenic design by Magda Willi. It is produced by The Young Vic & Joshua Andrews and features costumes by Victoria Behr, sound by Paul Arditti, music by Alex Baranowski and lighting by Jon Clark.

Synopsis: 'As Blanche's fragile world crumbles, she turns to her sister Stella for solace - but her downward spiral brings her face to face with the brutal, unforgiving Stanley Kowalski.'

Tickets for the additional performances, as well as extra seats for the entire run, will go on sale to the general public on Wed 16 Jul 2014.
