Caroline Sheen to return to 9 to 5 at the Savoy Theatre

It has been announced that Caroline Sheen will reprise her performance as Violet in 9 to 5 at the Savoy Theatre.

After stepping into the role following Louise Redknapp's injury in rehearsals, Sheen played Violet from the show's opening, continuing in the role until to 22nd March, with Redknapp making her debut performance in 9 to 5 on 25th March.

Sheen will assume the role from 4th July, following the previous announcement that Louise Redknapp playing her final scheduled performance in 9 to 5 on 29th June.

The cast of 9 to 5 also stars Amber Davies, Natalie McQueen, Bonnie Langford and Brian Conley, who will be in the production until 31st August 2019.

Details for casting for 9 to 5 from September 2019 is to be announced.

Based on the 1980 film starring Dolly Parton, the musical follows Violet, Doralee and Judy, three workers at Consoliated Industries who conjure up ways to get rid of their sexist boss, Franklin Hart Jr. The musical features original music by Dolly Parton, as well as some of Parton's well-known hits, including "9 to 5", "Backwoods Barbie" and "Get Out and Stay Out".

In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, critic Mark Shenton praised Sheen, saying "she is absolutely sensational here, full of grace, class and determination."

9 to 5 is at the Savoy Theatre.
