Cast confirmed for Absurdia at Donmar

Casting has been confirmed for ABSURDIA, a triple-bill of British Absurdist Comedies, which opens at the Donmar Warehouse 31 July 2007, following previews from 26 July 2007 - running to 8 Sep 2007.

The cast is: Peter Capaldi, John Hodgkinson, Lyndsey Marshal, Judith Scott

Directed by Douglas Hodge, the three short plays are two revivals of the work of N. F. Simpson, A Resounding Tinkle and Gladly Otherwise, and the world première of Michael Frayn's The Crimson Hotel.

They are designed by Vicki Mortimer with lighting by Paule Constable.


Peter Capaldi's London theatre credits include Feelgood (Garrick Theatre), Treats and Valued Friends (Hampstead) and The Judas Kiss (Almeida at the Playhouse and Broadway). For television, his extensive work includes The Thick of It, Waking the Dead, Skins, Aftersun, Pinochet's Progress and Sea of Souls; and for film, Magicians, Shooting Fish, Smilla's Sense for Snow and Dangerous Liaisons.

John Hodgkinson's London theatre credits include The Front Page (Donmar Warehouse), The Eleventh Capital (Royal Court) and The Taming of the Shrew and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre). His television credits include My Family, Peep Show, Chambers and Kiss Me Kate.

Lyndsey Marshal's London theatre credits include Boston Marriage (Donmar Warehouse), A Matter of Life and Death (National Theatre), The Hypochondriac and Blood Wedding (Almeida Theatre), Sleeping Beauty (Young Vic). Her television work includes Green, Rome, The Shadow in the North and Sons and Lovers.

Judith Scott's London theatre credits Ana in Love (Hackney Empire). For television, her credits include Midsomer Murders and Bliss; and for film, Vera Drake and My Brother Tom.
