Ophelia Lovibond will star in Barney Norris' new play Nightfall, which will run at the Bridge Theatre from 28 April.

Nightfall is about a family who live on a farm just outside Winchester after the death of their father. Ryan is trying to make a living off the land when his sister, Lou, returns home to support their mother, Jenny, when her boyfriend Pete appears with a new found wealth from his job at an oil refinery.

Lovibond will play Lou alongside Ukweli Roach as Pete and Sion Daniel Young who will play Ryan. Laurie Sansom directs.

Ophelia Lovibond is best-known for her roles as Izzy Gould in the meta-BBC series W1A, as well as film roles in The Autopsy of Jane Doe and Guardians of the Galaxy. She was last seen on stage in Richard Eyre's The Stepmother in Chichester, and has also appeared in The Libertine alongside Dominic Cooper at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and The Effect for Sheffield Theatres.

Ukweli Roach has previously appeared in productions of Romeo and Juliet and Helen at Shakespeare's Globe as well as 5,6,7,8 for the Royal Court. Sion Daniel Young's credits include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and War Horse at the National Theatre, and more recently, Killology at the Royal Court.

Barney Norris' first play, Visitors, ran at the Arcola Theatre before transferring to the Bush Theatre, and saw him win the 2014 Critics' Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright. His other work includes Eventide, Echo's End and While We're Here.

The Bridge Theatre officially opened in October last year when Rory Kinnear and Oliver Chris starred in a production of Richard Bean's Young Marx. Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr's inaugural season at the theatre continues with a production of Julius Caesar, starring Ben Whishaw and David Calder, later this month.
