Denise Van Outen to play 'Maureen' in Rent

Denise Van Outen to play 'Maureen' in the new version of Jonathan Larson's musical Rent, which opens at the Duke of York's Theatre 16 Oct 2007, following previews from 2 Oct - booking to 5 April 2008.

Based on Puccini's La Boheme, Rent has been re-orchestrated and reworked by William Baker and Steve Anderson, the creative team behind Kylie Minogue, this "contemporary version of RENT has cast aside the grunge and guitars and is ready to take on the 21st century."

Directed by William Baker, the cast also includes: Siobhan Donaghy (Mimi), Luke Evans (Roger), Oliver Thornton (Mark), Leon Lopez (Collins), Jay Webb (Angel), Francesca Jackson (Joanne), Craig Stein (Benny), Ruth Augilera, Jamie Sampson, Antony Luperi, Earl Perkins, Lewis Griffiths, Philippa Stefani.

It is designed by Mark Bailey, lighting by David Howe, music supervisor Steve Anderson and sound by Sebastian Frost.

It is produced by The Ambassador Theatre Group, Tulbart Productions and Michael Brenner.
