Phil Willmott's production of forgotten Irish musical Finian's Rainbow will transfer to the Charing Cross Theatre for a six-week season, from 3 Apr to 10 May 2014.

The production has previously played at the Union Theatre in Southwark and features direction by Phil Willmott and choreography by Thomas Michael Voss. The cast features James Horne (Finian), Christina Bennington (Sharon), Raymond Walsh (Og), Joseph Peters (Woody), Michael J Hayes (Senator Rawkins) and Laura Bella Griffin (Susan).

Finian's Rainbow features a score by Burton Lane, with Book and Lyrics by E.Y Harburg ad Fred Saidy. The musical has not been performed professionally in London since the 1947 Palace Theatre production, but was recently seen on Broadway in 2009 starring Kate Baldwin, Christopher Fitzgerald and Cheyenne Jackson.

The score features songs such as 'Look to the Rainbow', 'Old Devil Moon' and 'How Are Things in Glocca Morra?' and follow an "unashamedly silly plot" which sees an Irish immigrant being chased by a leprechaun who is looking to grow gold in the soil outside Fort Knox at the same time as finding a suitable husband for his daughter.
