Ahead of the world premiere of The Haystack at the Hampstead Theatre next month, full casting has been announced.

Exploring the worlds of Government Communication Headquarters (GCHQ) and national surveillance, The Haystack follows Neil and Zef, two young computer geniuses who are recruited by GCHQ as they question their roles when unlimited powers become overwhelming.

The Haystack marks Al Blyth's first full-length play, with Blyth currently working on a musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Oliver Johnstone will play Neil, previously starring in All My Sons at the Old Vic and Imperium and Oppenheimer with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Enyi Okoronkwo will play Zef, previously starring in Noises Off at the Lyric Hammersmith, Tartuffe at the National Theatre and Quiz at the Noel Coward Theatre.

The cast is completed by Lucy Black as Denise, Rona Morrison as Cora and Sarah Woodward as Hannah.

The creative team for The Haystack features direction by Roxana Silbert, choreography by Wayne Parsons, scenic design by Tom Piper, costume design by Emma Cains, lighting design by Rick Fisher and sound design by Ben and Max Ringham.

The Haystack is at the Hampstead Theatre from 31st January to 7th March 2020.
