Further plans have been revealed for this year's in-person ceremony.
Following confirmation of an in-person ceremony for the 2022 Olivier Awards, further plans have been revealed for this year's ceremony. The 2022 Olivier Awards will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on 10 April.
Jason Manford returns to the Olivier Awards to host the awards ceremony. Although he's best known for his stand-up comedy, Jason Manford has also starred in musicals such as Guys and Dolls and Curtains.
The 2022 Olivier Awards nominations will be revealed on 8 March. A ceremony broadcast date will be revealed shortly.
This year's ceremony is the first Olivier Awards to take place in-person since 2019. "After two years of our industry fighting to survive through upheaval and uncertainty, it is a privilege to be able to announce details of the 2022 Olivier Awards", said Julian Bird, Chief Executive of the Society of London Theatre and Executive Producer of the Olivier Awards.
"It will no doubt be a hugely emotional evening - a chance to celebrate the best of the London stage and pay tribute to the tenacity, innovation, and irrepressible spirit of our theatre community. We are so grateful to Mastercard for their unwavering support throughout the pandemic and their shared vision for a greener, more inclusive Awards."
The 2022 Olivier Awards event aims to be as sustainable as possible. New measures to be introduced include planting a tree for every public ticket sold, a green carpet made from real, reusable grass, and plastic-free areas at the ceremony.
Established in 1976, the Olivier Awards have become Britain's most prestigious stage honours. Watch live performances from the Olivier Awards in London.
