The Olivier and Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots has announced a booking extension at the Adelphi Theatre, where it is now booking to 30 September 2017.

The London production originally opened for previews on 21 August 2015 before an official opening on 15 September 2015.

Inspired by a true story and based on the Miramax film written by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth, Kinky Boots tells the story of Charlie Price who has reluctantly inherited his father's Northampton shoe factory. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save the family business from bankruptcy, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola. A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he's meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that "when you change your mind, you can change the world.

The current West End cast features David Hunter as Charlie alongside Olivier Award-winner Matt Henry who continues in the role of 'Lola', with Elena Skye (Lauren), Alan Mehdizadeh (Don), Cordelia Farnworth (Nicola), James Ballanger, Jemal Felix, George Grayson, Melissa Jacques, Charlotte Jeffery, Suzie McAdam, Jane Milligan, Robin Mills, Jon Reynolds, Simon-Anthony Rhoden, Ben Sell, Craig Thomas and Jason Winter.

Directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, it features set design by David Rockwell, costumes by Gregg Barnes, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound design by John Shivers and musical supervision, arrangements & orchestrations by Stephen Oremus.

At the 2016 Olivier Awards ceremony the musical was crowned 'Best Musical', along with awards for Best Costume Design (Gregg Barnes) and Best Actor in a Musical for Matt Henry.
