Lead character cast in upcoming rock musical Knights of the Rose

Further casting has been announced for the upcoming rock musical Knights of the Rose, which fuses together modern rock hits and the literature of Marlowe, Chaucer and Shakespeare.

Andy Moss will join the previously announced cast which includes Oliver Saville, Rebecca Bainbridge and Chris Cowley.

Moss will play the lead role of Gawain, a knight who returns victorious from battle with his three compatriots, only to be faced with further bloodshed.

The musical, which runs at the Arts Theatre from 29th June, features modern rock classics from the likes of Bon Jovi, No Doubt, Muse, Bonnie Tyler and Meat Loaf. Click here to read a full song list.

Knights of the Rose has been conceived by Jennifer Marsden, and will be directed by Racky Plews, who directed American Idiot in the West End, most recently seen at the Arts Theatre.

On joining the cast, Moss, who is best-known for his role as Rhys Ashworth in Hollyoaks, said: "I have always had a passion for both rock music and theatre and where better to bring the two together than in this high-voltage, West End stage production".

Knights of the Rose is at the Arts Theatre from 29th June.
