My Fair Lady extends 20 Dec 03

My Fair Lady has announced a new 6 month booking period to 20 Dec 03 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Also a new pricing policy has been introduced, whereby top price tickets for Tues & Wed evenings and Wed matinees will be 25% cheaper than other performances, except Peak Weeks (14 - 26 Apr; 23 Jun - 30 Aug; 20 Oct - 1 Nov)

Cameron Mackintosh's production of My Fair Lady, produced in association with the Royal National Theatre, originally opened in the Lyttelton Theatre in March 2001, where it ran for three months, before transferring to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in July 2001 where it recouped its entire capitalization in a record-breaking 18 weeks after opening in the West End..

The curent cast includes: Laura Michelle Kelly (Eliza Doolittle) , Anthony Andrews ('Professor Henry Higgins'), Stephen Moore (Colonel Hugh Pickering') Michael Xavier (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Patsy Rowlands (Mrs Pearce), Russ Abbot (Alfred P Doolittle ) Hannah Gordon (Mrs. Higgins).

"My Fair Lady", has music by Frederick Loewe, book & lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner based on "Pygmalion" by Bernard Shaw.

It is directed by Trevor Nunn, designed by Anthony Ward with lighting by David Hersey and choreography by Matthew Bourne.

The story concerns Henry Higgins, an opinionated linguistics professor and confirmed bachelor, who makes a wager with a colleague that within six months he can transform a cockney flower seller, Eliza Doolittle, into a lady who can take her place in high society. He wins the bet, but doesn't bargain for the profound effect she has on his life.
