UPDATE: After the musical film was launched, the National Theatre have launched a new podcast series, written and performed by the people of Doncaster. Stories To Get Us Through is a collection of 18 short stories, who came together as part of the Public Arts programme. The National Theatre and The Guardian have launched a musical video to commemorate 2020. Performed by over 100 members of Public Acts, "We Begin Again" has been launched as a standalone track and musical video, filmed on location and remotely.

Emily Lim, Director of the National Theatre's Public Acts programme said: "It has been such an exciting, new experience creating this piece with our amazing Public Acts company. It is the first time we've ever made a film, and the first time our community members in Doncaster and London have united to collaborate together, cross-country! It has felt so important to stay creative and connected with one another at this time, despite all the restrictions, and we can't wait to share this message of renewal and hope."

We Begin Again is written by James Graham, whose previous playwriting credits include Quiz and This House. Stars taking part include Noah Thomas, currently playing the title role in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, as well as Zubin Varla, Anita Dobson and Susan Wokoma. They're joined by a variety of community partner organisations, based in Doncaster and London.

The musical film is now available to watch below.
