Oedipus Retold at Tristan Bates Theatre in January

Jane Nightwork Productions presents Oedipus Retold, a double bill of Oedipus The King and Oedipus at The Crossroads, translated, adapted and written by Jeremy Kingston, at the Tristan Bates Theatre, a 60-seat fringe venue in Covent Garden, from 14 Jan to 8 Feb 2014.

Directed by Robert Gillespie and designed by Faye Bradley.

Cast for Oedipus the King: Tom Shepherd (Oedipus), Jack Klaff (Kreon), Richard Earthy (Tiresias), David Shaw-Parker (Shepherd), Steve Watts (Priest/Corinthian), Clare Cameron (Jocasta/Servant), Judi Scott (Chorus 1), Luke Hornsby-Smith (Chorus 2).

Cast for The Crossroads: Tom Shepherd (Oedipus), Jack Klaff (Laius), Richard Earthy (Tiresias), David Shaw-Parker (Shepherd - Polyphontes), Clare Cameron (Soldier - Chrysippus).

Both plays of Oedipus Retold focus on the fateful encounter between young Oedipus and his father at a fork in the road.
