Oliver! has a new booking period - tickets are now on sale to 27 Feb 2010 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. (Note: perfs from 21 Dec to 2 Jan are not on sale yet!).
Oliver!, opened at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 14 Jan 2009, following previews from 12 Dec 2008 to reasonably good notices from the popular press: THE DAILY TELEGRAPH says, "A cracking night of tuneful entertainment." MICHAEL COVENEY for THE INDEPENDENT says, "A masterpiece is restored, but not in its fullest glory." THE TIMES says, "Oliver! remains as good and revivable as anything he [Bart] wrote." THE EVENING STANDARD says, "I felt director Rupert Goold, came up with a traditional, unadventurous Oliver."
It is directed by Rupert Goold & Matthew Bourne, designed by Anthony Ward, lighting by Paule Constable , choreography by Matthew Bourne, sound by Paul Groothuis, Orchestrations by William D Brohn and musical supervision by Martin Koch. Produced by Cameron Mackintosh in association with the Southbrook Group Limited.
The cast includes Winner of BBC reality show 'I’d Do Anything' Jodie Prenger who continues to play 'Nancy' until to 12 Dec 2009 and Rowan Atkinson as 'Fagin', until 18 July 09, then from 20 July Omid Djalili will take over the role until to 12 Dec 2009.
