"Phantom of the Opera" announces major cast changes

Phantom of the Opera has announced major cast changes at Her Majesty's Theatre from 12 Sep 2005 including: David Shannon (Raoul), James Barron (Monsier Firmin), Wendy Ferguson (Carlotta), Annette Yeo (Madame Giry).

The show will continue to feature: Earl Carpenter (The Phantom) , Rachel Barrell (Christine), Rohan Tickell (Piangi), Sam Hiller (Monsieur Andre), Heidi O'Brien (Meg), Celia Graham will play 'Christine at certain performances).

Phantom of the Opera has been playing in London since 1986, and will enter its 20th year in London on 9 Oct 2005.

Worldwide Phantom of the Opera has grossed over £1.7 billion. The box office revenues are higher than any film or stage play in history, including "Titanic", "ET" and "Star Wars". It has been seen in at least 119 cities in 24 countries and played to over 80 million people.

Directed by Harold Prince, it has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart .

'This haunting musical traces the tragic love story of a beautiful opera singer and a young composer shamed by his physical appearance into a shadowy existence beneath the majestic Opera Paris House.'

Phantom of the Opera is currently taking bookings to 16 Dec 2006 at Her Majesty's Theatre (NOTE: Tickets are also on sale for Sat 6 Jan 2007, but not for performances from 18 Dec 2006 to 5 Jan 2007)
