The Landor Theatre have announced that they will stage a revival of the 1988 Tony-nominated musical Romance, Romance at their venue in Clapham, south London, from 8 to 31 October 2015, with an official opening on 12 October 2015.

The musical features book and lyrics by Barry English and music by Keith Hermann, and hasn't been seen in London for 20 years. Described as "a comedic look at the many twists and turns of any romantic relationship", the show is two musicals concerning the same theme presented together, using the same cast of characters.

The cast for the production includes Emily Lynne (Josefine/Monica), Lewis Asquith (Alfred/Sam), Sinead Wall (Her/Barb) and Tom Elliot Reade (Him/Lenny).

"Through a madcap assortment of characters, a case of mistaken identity in Vienna, an illicit affair in the Hamptons and a number of bloodthirsty insects, this charming two-part musical explores the secret ingredients of building a relationship that stands the test of time."

The production will be directed by Robert McWhir, with musical direction by Inga Davis-Rutter. Lighting design is by Richard Lambert, with design by Theatrica Ltd.

Romance, Romance was initially staged off-off-Broadway in 1987 at the Actor's Outlet Theatre and opened on Broadway at the Helen Hayes Theatre on 1 May 1988 where it ran for 297 performances. The original cast included Alison Fraser as Josefine/Monica and Scott Bakula as Alfred/Sam.

Tickets for the production are now on sale.
