SLEEPING BEAUTY AT YOUNG VIC THEATRE

The Young Vic Theatre has announced casting for its Christmas family show Sleeping Beauty by Rufus Norris, based on Charles Perrault's 17th Century classic, which opens on 4 Dec 02, following previews from 22 Nov 02 and booking to 25th Jan 03.

The cast includes Danielle King (Beauty), James Loye (Prince), Daniel Cerqueira (The Ogress), Christopher Brand (The Ogre), Paul Ewing, Hazel Holder, Helena Lymbery, Katie Quentin, Duncan Wisbey, Miltos Yerolemou.

The show, suitable for everyone aged 6 and above, is directed by Rufus Norris and designed by Katrina Lindsay, with lighting by Tim Mitchell.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful Princess who was loved by everyone. Well ... almost everyone. Cursed by a wicked fairy, she pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep. One hundred years later, a Prince wakes her with a kiss. But the Prince isn't as brave as he should be - and his mother's a bit of an ogress ...
