RIVE Productions presents the UK Premiere of German playwright Marius von Mayenburg's absurdist dark comedy The Dog, the Night and the Knife, directed by Oliver Dawe. It will play the Arcola Theatre, in Dalston, east London, beginning previews on 18 Sep 2014, officially opening on 23 Sep and continuing its limited engagement through to 18 Oct 2014.

The cast of The Dog, the Night and the Knife includes Michael Edwards, Beth Park and Stephen Ventura.

Synopsis: 'A hot August night. M finds himself at the dead end of a dark and deserted street, where everything has decayed and time has stopped. Hurled into a nightmare world, where wolves prowl, hunger is everywhere, and nothing is quite what it seems, M does the only logical thing: he runs. His flight through this land of blood and dust, flesh-eating seductresses and talking dogs forces him to confront his very existence, and as dawn approaches M realises this is one nightmare he may never awake from.'

The creative team behind The Dog, the Night and the Knife features set and costume design by Louie Whitemore, movement direction by Jane Gibson, lighting by Jason Taylor and sound design by Helen Skiera. The show is produced by Zoe Robinson.

The Dog, the Night and the Knife is recommended for ages 12+.
