The Kreutzer Sonata at Gate Theatre 6 Jan to 18 Feb 2012

The Kreutzer Sonata , by Leo Tolstoy, adapted by Nancy Harris, returns to the Gate Theatre in Notting Hill Gate, west London, from 6 Jan to 18 Feb 2011. (The show was previously at the Gate 5 November - 19 December 2009)

Directed by Natalie Abrahami, designed by Chloe Lamford, lighting by Mark Howland, sound by Carolyn Downing

Cast includes Hilton McRae (Posdnyshev ), Sophie Scott (Posdnyshev's wife), Tobias Beer (Trukhachevski)

A man boards a train and in the confined space of the carriage potent memories are triggered. Soon he is confessing to a terrible crime, one for which he holds Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata responsible.

(The Kreutzer Sonata will transfer to La MaMa E.T.C. in New York, to be presented as part of La MaMa's 50th Anniversary season from 8-25 March 2012. )
