Two new musicals to be showcased at Donmar

Two new musicals are to be showcased at the Donmar Warehouse at 12.20pm on Friday 15 Dec 2006.

Dreamweaver book and lyrics by John Farndon, music by John Farndon and Bernard Reilly

Anya music, book and lyrics by John Farndon.

The company of 40 includes Eliza Lumley, Graham Bickley, Mike Scott, Michael Harbour, Rochelle Roberts, Anna Blake, Richard Naxton and Laura Armstrong. There will be a choir of 15.

Ballet dancers include Martina Langmann (Cathy Marston Project).

The showcase is directed by Janey Clarke with musical direction by Warren Wills.

The Dreamweaver is the story of a young theatre group in present day Ireland staging a version of ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’. This is interwoven with the ancient legend of Ossian a blind harpist in mythical Ireland.

Anya is based on a true story set partly in Stalin’s Russia and partly in America. It is the story of a blighted love affair between a Russian singer and an American naval officer whose lives are split apart by the Cold War – and a young girl’s desperate search to find the father she never knew.

Performance: Friday 15th December 12.20pm
Running time 2 hours. Tickets on the door £3.00
