"Wicked" confirmed at Apollo Victoria Sep 2006

It is now confirmed that the Broadway musical Wicked - The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz , will open at the Apollo Victoria Theatre 27 Sep 2006, following previews from early Sep 2006.

On sale now to groups of 12+, available to individuals on 5 March

Casting will be announced in the New Year.

Tells the untold story of the legendary witches of Oz. Set within a fantasy world of wizardry and witchcraft, this adventure brings to life the captivating, surprising tale of how a misunderstood, green girl named Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Winnie Holzman, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Tony Meola, orchestrations by William David Brohn, musical staging by Wayne Cilento and is directed by Joe Mantello.

Winner of fifteen major awards, including the Grammy and three Tonys, WICKED has played to over 1.5 million people since opening at the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway in October 2003. The musical is also playing in Chicago and on a North American tour.
