Producers of the internationally successful musical Wicked have announced that the show has extended its booking in London's West End into its 23rd booking period, with tickets now available to 26 May 2018. Now the 17th longest running show in London theatre history, the musical recently celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Apollo Victoria Theatre and is preparing to welcome its 8 millionth theatregoer.

From 30 January 2017, Wicked will star Willemijn Verkaik (Elphaba), Suzie Mathers (Glinda), Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), Idriss Kargbo (Boq), Alice Fearn (Standby for Elphaba) and Carina Gillespie (Standby for Glinda).

Based on the acclaimed, best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked takes a fresh look at the characters created by L. Frank Baum in 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz', expanding on the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two sorcery students. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

With music and lyrics by multi Grammy and Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz the musical has been adapted for the stage by Winnie Holzman and features musical staging by Wayne Cilento with direction by Joe Mantello.

Around the world Wicked has been seen by over 50 million people in 15 countries and the West End production will shortly welcome its 8 millionth audience member. A new UK tour was also announced to open in Bristol in February 2018.

Wicked tickets for the new booking period are now on sale.
