YOUNG VIC ANNOUNCES 2002 SEASON

The Young Vic Theatre has announced its 2002 Season.

A Prayer for My Daughter, by Thomas Babe which was to open in Feb 02 has been cancelled!!

Doctor Faustus by Christopher Marlowe opens on 13th Mar 02, following previews from 7th Mar 02, running to 27th April 02.

It will feature Jude Law in the title role. His London Theatre credits include "Ion" at the Barbican Pit in 1994 and and 'Tis Pity She's A Whore" at the Young Vic in 1999.

It is directed by David Lan, designed by Richard Hudson with lighting by Matthew Richardson.

A retelling of the ancient tale: a man sells his soul to the devil in exchange for infinite knowledge, wealth and power. Tantalisingly ambiguous, is it a Christian morality or an attack on all religion and all authority? What is a human being? In what does our humanity lie?

Homebody/Kabul by Tony Kushner, opens 21st May 02, following previews from 10th May 02 and running to 22nd June 02.

It is Directed by Declan Donnellan and produced by Cheek by Jowl and The Young Vic in association with New York Theatre Workshop. Design by Nick Ormerod and lighting by Judith Greenwood .

1998. Afghanistan. An Englishwoman's discovery of an outdated guidebook propels her on an outlandish journey to the heart of Afghanistan.
