We’re sailing back on the S. S. America, as Anything Goes returns to the Barbican in 2022. Anything Goes tickets are available on London Theatre now. Anything Goes is a musical set on a cruise liner heading from New York to London. It’s not all smooth sailing for those on board the S. S. American though. Sometimes destiny and the path to true love needs a bit of guidance, including a crew of singing and dancing sailors and disguises. Will stowaway Billy Crocker and heiress Hope Harcourt have their happy ending? "Anything Goes" on board this ship. The London musical revival of Anything Goes was first staged on Broadway in 2011, starring Sutton Foster as Reno Sweeney. On Broadway, Anything Goes won three Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Anything Goes then played a summer run at the Barbican in 2021, and the show was extended numerous times due to audience demand. The 2022 Anything Goes London production stars Kerry Ellis as Reno Sweeney, and Bonnie Langford as Evangeline Harcourt. Denis Lawson will play Moonface Martin, and Simon Callow will play Elisha Whitney. Anything Goes features music by the iconic American composer and lyricist, Cole Porter. Songs in Anything Goes include “I Get A Kick Out of You”, “Friendship” and “You’re The Top”. Other notable songs by Cole Porter include “Too Darn Hot” from Kiss Me, Kate and “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”. Tickets to Anything Goes are available now. Putting Mischief Theatre firmly on the map, The Play That Goes Wrong continues to leave audiences in fits of giggles at the Duchess Theatre. Aiming to put on their annual show, the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society are in the middle of rehearsals for "Murder at Haversham Manor", a 1920s murder mystery. The Play That Goes Wrong play received its world premiere at the Old Red Lion Theatre, entertaining just 60 theatregoers a night. Now, thousands of audience members are entertained by Mischief’s trademarks hijinks each week in The Play That Goes Wrong West End performances. It’s even premiered in Australia and on Broadway, so something must have gone right, right? It’s the world-renowned theatre company’s first show in a West End theatre. Pretty Woman: The Musical is playing at the Savoy Theatre. Pretty Woman: The Musical tickets are available on London Theatre now. Based on the classic film starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, Pretty Woman: The Musical tells the story of a chance encounter between sex worker Vivian Ward and businessman Edward Lewis. Edward invites Vivian to escort him to a number of events during his stay in Los Angeles. Through spending time together, their relationship develops as they get to know each other better. The Pretty Woman movie went on to become the highest-grossing romantic comedy in the US ever, and its breakout song "Oh, Pretty Woman", as performed by Roy Orbison, became a hit. The Pretty Woman musical follows the film's storyline, thanks to a book by Garry Marshall and J.F. Lawton, and original music and lyrics by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. The Pretty Woman musical adaptation opened on Broadway in 2018 at the Nederlander Theatre. Andy Karl and Samantha Barks played Edward Lewis and Vivian Ward respectively. Pretty Woman London performances began at the Piccadilly Theatre on 13 Feb. 2020, however performances were cancelled a month in due to the pandemic.
