Cast announced for The Changeling at the Young Vic

Casting has been announced for The Changeling, by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley, which opens at the main house at the Young Vic Theatre 26 Nov 2012, following previews from 20 Nov - running to 15 Dec 2012.

Sinead Matthews (Beatrice-Joanna), Harry Hadden-Paton (Alsemero), Zubin Varla (De Flores), Alex Beckett (Lollio / Jasperino), Nick Lee (Antonio / Tomazo), Alex Lowe (Alibius / Alonzo), Eleanor Matsuura (Isabella / Diaphanta), Howard Ward (Vermandero).

Directed by Joe Hill-Gibbins, designed by Ultz, lighting by Charles Balfour, sound by David McSeveney, choreography by Maxine Doyle.

Beautiful Beatrice-Joanna is in love, so she hires the repellent De Flores to kill the man her father wants her to marry. But once the deed is done Beatrice discovers it's not money or jewels that De Flores intends to claim as his reward, but something far more precious. The Changeling is a tale of how love and sex can drive us mad.

Sinead Matthews stage credits include The Glass Menagerie at the Young Vic; the role of Margarita in Complicite's The Master and Margarita (Barbican/tour); Women of Troy, Our Class and The Mandate (National Theatre). Harry Hadden-Paton played Teddy Graham in Trevor Nunn's West End revival of Flare Path. He made his NT debut earlier this year in Jamie Lloyd's production of She Stoops to Conquer and played Harry Villiers in Posh (Royal Court). Zubin Varla starred as Judas in the 1996 West End revival of Jesus Christ Superstar. Other stage credits include The Life of Galileo and Cyrano de Bergerac for the National Theatre; Julius Caesar, Midnight's Children, The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet for the RSC.
