Chaplin at Silk Street Theatre at the Guildhall School

The Guildhall School presents Chaplin, at the Silk Street Theatre at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, at the Barbican from 26 June to 4 July 2012.

It has music by Roger Anderson, lyrics by Lee Goldsmith and a book by Ernest Kinoy.

The musical is based on the early life of Charlie Chaplin's journey from English music halls to Hollywood.

Directed by Martin Connor, the cast features Jherad Alleyn (Alfie), Simon Blackhall (Charlie), Tim Bowie (Sydney), Nathalie Buscombe (Gladys), Sion Alun Davies (Retired Naval Person/Mack Sennett), Steffan Donnelly (Jacobsen), Katharine Drury (Betty), Paapa Essiedu (Jim), Jennifer Fennessy (Katie), Gala Gordon (Agnes), Danielle Harrison (Hannah), Nicholas Kendrick (Immigration Officer), Susannah Laing (Francey), Katherine Rose Morley (Mabel), Kevin Phelan (Young Sydney), Helen Ramsorrun (Louise), Rose Reynolds (Lilly), Edwin Thomas (Fred Karno), Beatrice Walker (Hetty) .

Music director is Steve Edis, design by Mark Bailey , lighting by Mark Jonathan, sound by Ben Harrison, choreography by Bill Deamer.
