Clare Burt joins Kelsey Grammer and cast of Big Fish at The Other Palace

Actress Clare Burt will join Kelsey Grammer in the London premiere of Big Fish, due to open at The Other Palace in November.

Burt will play Sandra Bloom in John August and Andrew Lippa's musical, which is based on the novel of the same name by Daniel Wallace. It is about William Bloom, a young man who is facing the imminent death of his father, the travelling salesman Edward (Grammer). 

Clare Burt won the UK Theatre Award for her role as Mrs Harris in Flowers for Mrs Harris, nd is also known for her roles in the original production of London Road, Sunday in the Park with George and Coram Boy (all National Theatre). She will play Sandra Bloom in Big Fish.

She joins Kelsey Grammer, who is best-known for playing Dr Frasier Crane in the US TV sitcom Cheers and its subsequent spin-off, Frasier. On Broadway, he has appeared in the musicals Finding Neverland, and La Cage aux Folles.

Big Fish, directed by Nigel Harman, will also feature Matt Seadon-Young, Frances McNamee, Forbes Masson, Jamie Muscato', Laura Baldwin, Landi Oshinowo, Dean Nolan George Ure , Sophie Linder-Lee, Gemma McMeel and Jonathan Stewart.                                       
The musical premiered had a tryout out-of-town in Chicago before opening on Broadway in October 2013, when it ran for 98 performances at the Neil Simon Theatre. 

It has songs by Andrew Lippa, including "Be the Hero", "Daffodils" and "Time Stops", and runs at The Other Palace from 1st November to 31st December, with an official opening night on 7th November.
