Heresy of Love at the Globe - full cast announced

The full cast has been announced for The Heresy of Love, by Helen Edmundson, directed by John Dove, at the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre on London's South Bank, from 31 July to 5 September 2015.

Cast includes Naomi Frederick (Sor Juana), Anthony Howell (Bishop Santa Cruz), Gabrielle Lloyd (Madre Marguerita), Patrick Driver, Naomi Frederick, Anthony Howell, Gwyneth Keyworth, Gabrielle Lloyd, William Mannering, Sophia Nomvete, Rhiannon Oliver, Ellie Piercy, Susan Porrett, Gary Shelford and Philip Whitchurch.

Synopsis: "In the late 1600s, in a convent in Mexico, a gifted and progressive writer finds herself at the centre of a deadly battle between two Princes of the Church. Celebrated by the Court but silenced by the Church, she is betrayed by the very people she thought she could trust."

The production is part of the Globe's 2015 season, which will be the final season for Artistic Director Dominic Droomgoole.
